博客基础：到底什么是博客？

每当我告诉我的朋友我是一个博主的时候，他们通常会以奇怪的眼神看着我。
通常他们会有两种反应。 一种是问我在网络上写日记是不是要把自己的灵魂共享给互联网。另一种是根本就不知道博客是怎么一回事，然后让我给与解释。
到底什么是博客呢？

大多数的博客都是建立在一种博客平台上的。这个平台允许那些即使不懂得如何设计网站的人也可以快速地搭建博客，从而开始写作。 比较流行的这样的博客平台有：Wordpress,Blogger和Typepad. Site Sketch 101站点就是使用Wordpress创建的一个博客的。

When I tell my friends that I’m a blogger they often look at me like I have a strange growth on my face.
They usually have one of these two responses. They either ask me if I share my soul to the internet in the form of an online diary or they tell me that they have no idea what a blog is and they ask me to explain it to them.
What Exactly is a Blog?
I’m glad you asked. A blog is a website with a primary focus on articles. Although many sites use this format to display a diary-like account of their lives, there is a growing trend among bloggers to write meaningful articles about particular topics like photography, web-design, art, etc.
A blog is usually updated more often than a traditional website and is usually arranged in reverse chronological order to show off the most recent articles at the top of the home page and the oldest toward the bottom.
Blogs are often designed to create the feel of a topical conversation. Often you will find a comment form at the bottom of each article inviting you to add your thoughts and to communicate back and forth with the author.
How do I create a blog?
The vast majority of blogs are built using a blogging platform which allows users who have no idea how to design a web site to quickly set up and begin writing. The most popular blogging platforms are Wordpress, Blogger and Typepad. Site Sketch 101 is an example of a blog built with Wordpress.
